With sales in excess of $900 million and almost 400 stores in Australia and New Zealand, the Repco Corporation is the largest reseller and supplier in the automotive parts and accessories aftermarket in Australia and New Zealand. In addition to its retail sales, Repco supplies parts, tools, and automotive equipment to trade customers such as local repair shops and car dealership service centers. In an effort to boost sales to trade customers, Repco launched a "25,000 Extreme Business Makeover" promotional contest. The winner of this promotion would receive $25,000 worth of redecoration, refitting, new equipment, and more. In order to qualify, the customer needed to order at least $1,000 worth of parts within the one-month window of the promotion. Over 20,000 digitally printed postcards were sent out to promote this offer. To test the effectiveness of DreamType imagery, 25% of the postcards featured Image-Personalization, while the rest of the cards used an identical, but static, image. The test group achieved a response rate of 3% vs. 0.3% for the control group. The postcards using DreamType performed 30 times better than those that did not. industry average. The personalized version generated a 5.7% response rate, effectively doubling the results.
