California-based Maredy School Fundraising Company specializes in generating money for organizations - from educational institutions, to churches, to scouting groups. Maredy offers a variety of both pre-sale and direct sale fundraising programs featuring products such as cookie dough, chocolate bars, and gift wrap, in addition to popular candy fundraising items. Maredy works with over 20,000 individual organizations per year, more than any other fundraising company. Maredy runs several seasonal sales promotions in anticipation of periods of high order volume, such as Valentine's Day. In an effort to increase their response rate on an annual mailing encouraging repeat orders, Maredy called upon DreamType to supply a relavant, engaging image for the front of a postcard. To test the effectiveness of DreamType, half of the records on Maredy's list received an image personalized with the recipeint's firstname, lastname, and school name. The other half received a postcard with the same image featuring a static message in place of the personalization. The static piece generated a 2.7% response rate, slighterly higher than the industry average. The personalized version generated a 5.7% response rate, effectively doubling the results.
